Free Saturday

The first week of school is over. Thank God for that. Bn a busy 1st week. More on coursework. As I expected those lazy bums did not do my homework. Was I surprised? Of course not. But I will be haunting them down next week. As per normal, will always give them a second chance. After Youth Day, I will come down hard on them. The graduating classes will be doing CW B. Wt the heck. Already so much to do for A now you hv B. Then the mundane meetings.. and the pile of books...file... workbooks.. that I see in my room... then the number of new trainees....
I guess that's why Youth day will always be on the Monday after the first week of sch cos we need to breathe after that. Was it only last week that I just landed back home from Turkey. I always look at my watch and count backwards 5 hours. In Istanbul.. we wld be probably at the Grand Bazaar ..or on the bus to the next town...in Anatolya we wld probably be looking at the beautiful hidden city of Kaymukali..I miss my holiday already. I am just wondering when the next opportunity will come for me to be able to travel to my next dream destination. But for now time to recover from the damages...probably the next few holidays wld be short trip...short drive to our fav location KL.

Some of the wonderful place and exiting things that we got to do. Great food. I arrive back in Sin on Wed last week of sch hols and Thursday was already back in sch. Remember being so tired during the workshop. Cld'nt focus cos of the different timing. Thot that P noticed caused he asked me if I'm still in Turkey or back already.
Then the next day it was someone 's idea to bring the whole staff for a walk to Bukit Chandu. Objective: staff bonding. Very good bonding cos I really bonded with May Tan cos I was on the bus wth her, I was walking wth her and I talk to her. Lame. Maybe not enough bonding in the HOD rm.
I got to watch Transformers last nite. Late show 9.45 pm. Finish at around 12.30 am. Damn good show. After that went for supper. So next day without fail I overslept. Tired. So since hubby is working today, its just slacking time.
No routine. Shd I be glad fot that?


Oh my niece gave me a good news; she's on the way to motherhood. So happy for her.

2 weeks of holiday gone

Time flies...too fast. Its now the end of week 2 of the holiday. So what exactly have I deen doing for the past 2 weeks.
Week 1:
Managed to catch 'Pirates of the Caribbean'. Good show.
Attended the Casualty Management Workshop on the first day of the holiday. Personally I thought that it could be conducted in juz half a day. Well we don't need to know how to carry stretcher up or down the stairs.. or learn how to do a simple triangular bandage. We only need to know how to manage casualty and the set up of the casualty post. That was one whole day. The next few days was buzy with the O level practicals with the Sec 5. 2 days of mock practical and 2 days actual. The regular grocer was closed. He will not be delivering food for the June holidays. So imagine I had to do "shopping" for all the ingredients for the students. Went to Sheng Shiong..Giant... Cold Storage.. and Shop and Save. Not all the food can be obtained at one place. So need to go to almost all the supermarket. Tired.. But what is most infuriating is that there are still students who fail to turn up. No reasons given.. Don't even hv the courtesy to call me to inform why... sick rt? Then need to meet up the students to finish up on the whole coursework.
Vesak Day: Busy with sis-in-law moving house from Hougang to Bedok North. So everybody decided that they are not ever going to move house anymore. Too much hassle... too many things to sort out..
Weekend: Busy with family jemputan at Yishun... and settling holiday matters..
Week 2
Went on the school trip to Kuantan-KL-M'ca. Mon to Thursday. Too long. This trip was supposed to combined Geog and FN. Personally I think not too much of FN cld be integrated. Last year when the 1st combined trip was organised it was held in Dec. which was good cos most of the topics were already covered. But since this time it was held in June, the topics were not covered, the FN students who were on this trip were lost..and the numbers were also too little to be called an FN trip. Definitely need to review.But the group of teachers were OK. Diana, Steven and myself on Coach 1. Johnny, Rafiyah and Sharon on Coach 2. I have to say that since I only teach the last 2 classes of the sec 3, I hardly knew the bulk of the students who were mostly the 1st 2 classes. But eventually got to know esp. those on the same coach. Quite a pleasant lot of students. But as per normal when they get together with frens, they won't sleep at nite but will only sleep on the bus. So had to wake them up esp when there are briefings on the bus.
There are some funny incidences on the bus with a lot of grp photo taking sessions. Felt like this trip is more catered for shopping than any other things. Didn't do much shopping personally cos trying not to spend too much as I'm saving up for the next trip.
Came back last nite. So today slack at home. Tired. Tom..back in school for coursework again. Yes its a Saturday but no choice. Must do it cos no other day.
